Dental Team

Dr. Jim Eaker founded the dental clinic in 2007 when he and his family came to do exams and extractions for residents at the Durham Rescue Mission with a simple chair and single light.  Over the last four years he has built the clinic to a state-of-the art facility that rivals any private practice.  Dr. Eaker oversees the dental services and leads a group of UNC dental students every Thursday night for a student-run clinic.  Dr. Eaker works full-time at his own private practice in Durham. Tammi Thomas brings more than 18 years of professional dental assisting to our clinic, ensuring that we take excellent care of our patients.  With a bright smile on her face, she lights up our dental clinic.
